Sleep Apnea Weighed My Life Down For Years
Sleep Apnea is a serious fatigue-causing illness that affects millions of people.
for untreated sufferers
That is 14 years lower than the general population.
This is why it's important for you to read my story even if you're fatigued right now.
If you stick with me, this could be the last time you ever have to suffer with fatigue.
I will give you the solution that worked for me. You just need to understand how to do it.
And the solution is so simple, even people with dementia can do it daily.
Underestimating this illness or denying it could be the worst mistake of your life.
It could mean you get sleepy behind the wheel and end up a john doe in a ditch.
It could mean your family falls apart because you were too fatigued to be a present father or husband.
It could mean your career self-destructs because you were too tired to get things done and accomplish your goals.
Or, what's more likely, your life is already suffering.
And those things will continue to get worse.
Much worse.
I've been in your shoes.
I understand how heavy life can get with overwhelming fatigue.
The responsibilities.
The expectations others have of you.
The overwhelming feeling of tiredness that stops you from being who you truly are.
It sucks now. But that fatigue completely goes away once the root cause is addressed with a solution so simple it feels almost unfair.
Before you go off and do the solution, you need to understand how the fatigue exists in the first place.
Why You Can't Get Real Rest
Sleep Apnea is the tongue relaxing so much during sleep that it falls back in the throat and closes the airway.
While the airway is closed, you cannot breathe.
After a few seconds, your body panics and wakes itself up just enough to gasp for oxygen.
Each time this happens, it resets your sleep cycle.
That is the issue.
Your body is never able to get into deep sleep because it keeps getting interrupted every few minutes.
And deep sleep is where your body, your brain, and your energy recover so that you can wake up feeling well-rested.
Without it, no amount of hours in bed will fix the fatigue.
So in order to solve this, all we need to do is keep the airway open all night.
If the airway stays open all night, you get into deep sleep. You complete full sleep cycles. You wake up rested.
How we keep the airway open is the important part.
There are about 3 solutions. Only one of them works the best, doesn't require a diagnosis, and happens to be the lowest priced of all of them.
Solution 1 The Most Complicated and Expensive Option
An Implant.
There is an implant surgically inserted inside your body that electrically stimulates your vagus nerve during sleep, causing your tongue to move forward and keep the airway open.
- Does it work? Yes.
- Requires a formal diagnosis
- Requires surgery and months of recovery
- Costs approximately $20,000
It is completely over-complicated.
Solution 2 Expensive, Requires a Diagnosis, Hard to Sleep With
A CPAP Machine.
To put it simply, it's pressurized air. It forces air into your airway with brute force in order to keep it open.
- Requires a formal diagnosis
- Costs $900 to $3,000
- Many people can't sleep with the mask strapped to their face
I have used one before. I wasn't able to sleep with it on.
Solution 3 Costs Very Little and Completely Changed My Life Overnight
A Sleep Apnea Mouthguard.
This is the simple but elegant solution to keeping the airway open.
It's a mouthguard with a setting that pulls your bottom jaw slightly forward.
When the jaw moves slightly forward, it pulls the tongue forward too which keeps the airway open all night.
It also stops snoring.
You boil it.
Put it in your mouth.
Set the dial to shift your jaw slightly forward.
And you go to sleep.
No diagnosis required.
I use Solution 3 because it's portable, I can take it anywhere, and it works better than anything else I've tried.
After I used it, the very next morning I woke up well-rested.
This is where my life completely changed.
For years I was suffering. Things were harder than they needed to be. I wasn't truly myself.
I couldn't play with my kids when they were growing up.
I couldn't be present with my wife.
I couldn't meet my true potential in my career.
I couldn't stay consistent with my diet so I put on weight.
I couldn't be there for myself, let alone for my family.
And that disappointment broke me.
I just wasn't me.
With addressing my undiagnosed sleep apnea, all that weight lifted off of me.
I wake up well-rested every single day.
I can work 10–12 hour days without any issue of fatigue.
My brain has a sheer processing power that I only remember having as a young teenager.
So now, I am excited to be alive every single day.
I get to be present with my wife and family again.
I am excited to excel in my career.
I got in the best shape of my life despite being 50 years old.
I feel like a version of myself I never knew was possible. And all I had to do was wear a mouthguard.
It literally saved my life. And it's worked for countless other people I know.
IMMENSELY.
Again, it doesn't require a diagnosis.
Thank you for reading my story. From one man to another, I wish you all the best on your new adventures in life.
